  • Signs of the times

Just a quickie, a couple of signs I saw on the highways when I was out and about yesterday.

    CAUTION
    PRAIRIE DOGS HAVE
    PLAUGE!

And this one, no where near a campground or park of any sort, just randomly out there:

No campfires except in designated areas.

I remember a few news stories from a few years back about sickly prairie dogs that people would buy as pets.

I saw a "Vandalism Prohibited" sign the other day.

I thought vandalism was always prohibited. Is there a day when it's not prohibited? If so, I want to be a vandal!

I saw a sign once (that was obviously tamper with) that said:

Warning Parking is for "Restaurant" Customers only. Violators will be violated.

They actually put some thought into it too because they used white tape to cover up the real words and those sticky letters to change it. Took like a month for the restaurant to notice it.

Living in Wisconsin, of course, there are signs warning motorists of deer just about everywhere.

The funniest place, of course, being on an overpass.

I know at times it appears deer fall out of the sky and then proceed to smash right into your car, but I HIGHLY doubt a deer is going to jump 50 feet onto an overpass and run into your car.

            Deer-devils

But seriously, it's because the deer will use the overpass for the same reasons the cars do. Well, almost. It's more like, "Hey, there's tasty stuff over there, and an easy way across! Tally-hooo!"

Hehe I've been looking for a good time to post this. A little while back (probably about 3 weeks before Sir left for job corps, so around the beginning of April), he and I went walking down by the river front and ran across a sign... It was so funny I had to take a picture for all my CS friends to post for you...

Now how many of you would like to do that?

I really wish you would have gotten a picture of that.

One of most idiotic signs I saw read School Respect Zone-No drugs or firearms. Why not LAW ACTUALLY ENFORECED NEXT 500 FEET.
What a waste of tax money.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

I used to have pics from when I went to Texas of signs outside a school that declared it a "Drug and Gun Free Zone."
