Humans for the most part aren't big lovers of sharks for the exact same reason.

I'm not a big lover of sharks because they don't have fur and won't snuggle with you in bed. It's got nothing to do with them being dangerous. Hell, bears are dangerous, but you see plenty of people trying to take up close and personal pictures with them and their kids.

Some people just suck.

I love Cats. I also love Evita, Les Miserable, Damn Yankees...

Why the obsessive idea in this thread (I mean other posters as well) that everyone MUST love cats simply because they're furry and snuggly? Some people simply have different standards for pets.

Me? I'm a cat lover. Fur and snuggles all the way baby! But it doesn't float every boat. Some people can't stand the independence of cats. Others like to play and interact more with their pets, the way attention-slut dogs do. Some like a pet that can talk.

Whether it's feathers or fur or scales that makes you go all gooey, it's all good.

The animal haters in the OP are idiots for expressing their views - you can dislike the animal (or even just the type of animal) without being disrespectful and simply cruel (see AdminAssistant's post). But conversely, "people who don't like cats" are not sucky or horrible people just because fur and snuggles doesn't get them going in a pet.

Thanks, One Fang. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like cats and dogs and other fuzzy things. But they need to live with someone else. (One of the reasons I still hang out with BT is to see the kitty, give him scritches, and watch him obsess over my shoes ) I'm really selfish, really poor, and very busy - I would be a terrible pet owner.

I simply don't trust people who would even suggest a cruelity to an animal. Or people who don't like animals at all. Don't like cats, that's fine. Don't like dogs, okay. But don't like ANY animals? That's just weird.
