So I was talking to mom today and she says.....
Candyshopgirl I don't want to make you mad but your stomach is getting fat again.Why Oh why do people feel the need to point out flaws and weight gain?Yes mom I've gained 5-10 pounds,I've been stressed. I know she just is mom and is concered.But come on I've lost 35 pounds,I went from a size 16 to a size 9/10.The big stomach is dominant in my dads family,so I know shes doesn't want that for me. But really just let me be..

I know the feeling. It got pointed out to me, too. My aunt died in 2007, she was very very obese. As a result, certain family members have pointed out that I'm fairly big and cushy, and should probably lose weight so I don't die like my aunt did.

The real kicker is hearing it from my other aunt (her sister), who's probably bigger than me percentage wise (I'm taller than her, but she's rounder)

Seriously people, it's not like we dont' look in a mirror. Nice and all that you want to help but--ok, no. No it's not. Just shush!

*sympathy hugs* My ex-boyfriend was a jackass that way. I gained a bunch of weight when I stopped working as a portrait photographer and started working sales. Too much food, not enough running around.

I am happy to report that after we broke up, I started watching what I was eating AND between that and not being stressed out from constantly being told all my flaws, how fat I was getting, etc. I lost 15 of the 20 lbs I had gained and went down two pants sizes.

I'm sorry to hear your own mother is treating you this way, though.

There's nothing like one's mom asking 'Have you gained weight? Your butt looks bigger.' then not understanding why you're peeved at them.

My mom and dad were (and still are but less) always overweight. I never said a word when they would have their third helping of dinner. I never once said you should watch what you eat etc.
Then I got put on two medications that cause serious weight gain and I did gain a lot of weight.
Now all my mom does is complain about how much I eat or what I eat. She took me grocery shopping a month ago and I bought a bag of hard candy, which is a decent snack cause there is no fat compared to like chocolate bars.
She still wont let me forget that. Just yesterday I told her I lost a few pounds and she said "you'd loose more if you didnt eat all that junk food'

Voice from the other end of the spectrum. My Aunt tried to force feed me chocolate biscuits so I would gain weight. I think it was because my family is usually on the weighty side, and I am tiny. And when I say my family, I mean all of the females on my mums side, and on my dads side.
