  • I may get to (finally) see a launch!

    My parents want to go to Kennedy Space center when they come to visit.

    While they're here the SDO (Atlas V rocket) will launch:

    I hope they don't mind getting up early!

    JEALOUS!!!

    I saw a shuttle on the launch pad (from a good distance) many years ago. I actually found the photo, looked up past launches from that year....I think the shuttle may have been Columbia

      Those are fun to see!

      I wasn't close up, but I got to see one about four years ago in FL. It was an amazing sight. Afterwards, we bought some gator and had a yummy dinner.

        Oh, nice!

        I once camped out to watch a shuttle landing, but Regan ruined it for me and the thousands of other people who'd done the same.

        They were supposed to be doing a landing on the lake bed rather than the runway, but Regan showed up, and so they changed their plans so he could watch it up close and everybody else who'd make the trek and plans to check it out got shafted.
