Ok, so I really, really really liked this movie. It had everything, good plot, stayed true to canon, explosions, Arnold!!!! And more.

The only thing at all that bothered me, would be the chick that's all over Marcus. Seriously, how obvious did she have to be! They had just met, and then she was all over him! And of course she looks hot, . The whole time I'm leaning over telling my friend "Shes just gonna be the eye candy in this movie isn't she?"

Sure she had stuff to do but the whole love interesting thing, felt unnecessary and just an attempt to play with your emotions at the end. BTW Mr. Bay! It didn't work. Them both falling for each other by the end is believable considering what they just went through, but we really didn't get a chance for some development in that relationship at all so you don't really care about it. So the last scene where they had that moment just didn't work and felt slightly out of place for me, but not too much so.

It was only a minor issue for me. The only other thing would be how Arnold's crotch was always conveniently covered by smoke, gun, etc. But other than that I have no issues and I loved it. That's all that matters to me in the end. Awesome movie, can't wait for the next one!

you mean you wanted to see Arnold's crotch

OK, yeah, that was a bit overdone... seriously, if you want him to be covered just give him some clothes for God's sake.

The one thing that I was nervous about going into it was Anton Yelchin playing Kyle Reese... I mean after all, he's my beloved Charlie Bartlet and Chekov... how is he going to pull off such a badass like Kyle Reese... but dear God did he pull it off. Christian Bale pulled off John Conner much better than whatshisname in T3.
And the new Terminator was amazing... I think the movie was worth it just for that inner conflict of is he human, is he machine... is he good or evil. Ironic how a death row inmate ends up being the guy who helps save humanity.
The only complaint I really have on the storyline is that it went just a bit too Matrix for me when Marcus is in the computer room... did anyone else get the Nero and the Architect vibe from that scene?

Oh, and SG, the movie poster thing... it was for Year One, Michael Cera's eyes were just gazing at me and I couldn't resist

External reasons for not showing the crotch: PG rating, not to mention Governor Schwarzenegger might just object to it.

Internal reasons for him not having clothes: he is a prototype of a new Terminator, fresh off the assembly line. He is not infiltrating the human resistance, nor is he trying to blend in with them, and he is not even in one of their areas, but in the factory, as it were. Why would he have clothes? To paraphrase a character from another summer blockbuster, that would be....illogical.

He had Kyle Reese DOWN. I have to believe that Yelchin studied the 84 movie, because he just seemed like a younger, fresher Kyle Reese. Voice, voice mannerisms, idiosyncracies.....you could just tell that this young puppy was going to grow into the battle-hardened badass that would save Sarah Connor.

At least, that was my take on it.

impressively so... despite it not being the typical character for him...

He even pulled the "come with me if you want to live" line off perfectly

Actually, Arnold was not in the film. It was actually the body of Roland Kickinger, an Austrian bodybuilder like Arnold was with images of Arnold's face from 1984 digitally superimposed on Roland's body.

I read that Arnold gave legal permission to the film company to let them use his likeness in the film.

how did marcus know his heart would be compatible for john?
was it a some kind of biotech heart? how did he know he would reject it, and what about anti rejection drugs???
            also kate.
in T3 she was told her children where important in the reisistance movement.
WHY ON EARTH WHOULD ANY WOMAN IN HER RIGHT MIND WITH ACTUAL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HER CHILDRENS FUTURE RISK ONE OF THEIRS LIVES AND TRAVEL TO AN ACTIVE WAR ZONE???????????
even the liberel extremist in me wants to smack some sense into her.

first off, I'd be willing to chock that one up to artistic license and suspended disbelief.
Second, you will have to fight me for him

First, I want to know how her children are going to be important to the resistance movement, when the oldest one is going to be all of 11 in 2029 (based on her pregnancy in 2018 and the apparent lack of any other children of hers at that time)?

Secondly, as to why she would risk that, she was going to check on the well-being of the man she loved. That does not strike me as all that surprising.

Wow ok. If I had been there I probably would have backed away slowly, and pretended I didn't know you.

So? For a CGI moment, it was done really well. In fact CGI in this movie was good period. Everything looked real. They did an awesome job on making the world look believable.

I loved the movie. Plus the shots of Marcus walking around near the beginning looked like something straight out of Fallout 3 which made me giggle.

This movie confirmed something I've been wondering about for a while now, Skynet left themselves hints, otherwise how would they know that John and Kyle were important at all.
