  • Guess who has been married 18 years?

That would be me! It was 18 years yesterday. I can't believe we have been married so long. It doesn't really seem to be all that long to me.

We still love being together, love holding hands, giving kisses and hugs. We don't care where we go as long as we are together.

I had to talk my husband out of calling some "friends" that had only gave us 6 months and telling them that we have beat and buried the 6 months.

We have gone through some very very hard things, but we made it through and it only made our love stronger.

We are extremely happy and more in love now than we were when we got married.

So, that's my ambien ramblings for tonight.

        Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Misanthropical!

Our tenth is coming up soon and it's been every bit as wonderful as you've described your eighteen, and I'm very much looking forward to the next ten.

Congratulations! It's so wonderful to see married couples sticking together since it seems so many call it quits after one major fight. You're setting a marvelous example to newbies like me (1 year, almost 4 months). Best wishes to you and your sweetheart.

Congrats! Hubby and I just celebrated 16 yesterday. I still love being married to him as much as I did when we first got married.

Song suggestion (from Debi's album 'Red Bird Red')

                Marry Me Again
                Debi Smith and Tom Paxton

Marry me again; marry me tonight
I will bring the candles; you turn out the light.
Safely in our own world, we'll remember when
We will plan tomorrow-- marry me again

Marry me again; come and hold me tight
When I see you smiling, I don't need the light
I love you even more now - than I loved you then
Come and make me happier still--marry me again

All I ask is all your days and nights
All I ask is all your months and years
We've already come so far together
We've already buried all our fears

You will never know; you would never guess
Just how much I love you, unless I confess
Telling you I love you ten times ten times ten
Make my life complete, now, marry me again
                I am not an a**hole. I am a hemorrhoid. I irritate a**holes!

Thank you all, you are all very sweet.

We did have a nice lunch for our anniversary and will do more when my husband is feeling better and I'm over my sinus infection.

Most people are shocked at how long we have been married and that this is my one and only marriage.

I know this will sound corny to some of you, but he is my soul mate. I knew the first time I ever laid eyes on him that he was the one I was meant to marry and I didn't even know his name yet. I had to chase him down though, because he thought no girl so much younger than him would ever be seriously interested in him, since he didn't have money or a fancy car.

He finally got the message and now we just celebrated our 18 year anniversary.
