Overdue Update

So a few of you may remember this thread about the military guy I was seeing, and how hard a time I was having dealing with the situation.

I meant to post an update WAY before this... But it took me a long time before I could think about the situation without crying. I even have tried dating since, but nothing has been working out.

Anyways...

It appears that my "military man" possibly wasn't in the military after all. A few concerned friends brought some things to my attention... Things I hadn't thought about.

He went out in public in a PARTIAL military uniform.

He claimed that the military sent him a "private" plane to ship him out.

He was "called back up" with less than a week's notice.

The rank he claimed was inappropriate in relation to the position of authority that he claimed to have.

He sent text messages to me from "overseas" on a phone that wasn't capable of being used over seas. He also would respond to
text messages so fast that I would send a message at, say 4pm and recieve one back in the same minute time code, messages
that clearly were a response to mine.

When I called him on some of the things he said, I was a "psycho bitch".

This happened the day before my B-day.

All I can say is... I don't know. This was low. I have so much respect for the men and women fighting over there. I'd like to believe that this was all a huge misunderstanding, but my heart tells me that I was played. I'm getting to the point, bit by bit, that I don't instantly mistrust someone who has served/ is serving in the military.

Anyways... Sorry that this is so long, and that it TOOK so long... Guess I haven't been ready to face things.

People who impersonate military are about the lowest of the low.

And that's all I'll say about that.

I am so sorry to hear that that happened to you. Lots of virtual hugs for you. As an Army brat myself, please trust me when I say that you'll get good people and bad people from the military just as often as you'll get them in civilian life. Give them a chance to prove that they aren't all bad.

As for that...creature that was impersonating one of our fine peeps in uniform, it's not just illegal to impersonate a police officer. I may be a bit over vindictive here, but you could contact the CO at the nearest base, give his name and supposed rank and let them take it from there.

I really hope, for his sake, that this was all a misunderstanding... Or that he was AT LEAST actually in the military and lied about the other stuff.

I know that I could get him in trouble, but he isn't worth my time... He really isn't.
