  • Roomate Drama, again!

Well, the two room mates that I had lined up to move into spare bedrooms in our house have so far, flaked out. One turned out to seem to think that she was helping buying the house, and was expecting us to bed over backwards and do everything HER way. As in, remodel what SHE wanted to remodel, repaint what SHE wanted to repaint. We have Asbestos floors where our bedroom and office will be? Too bad, she wants her carpet redone because she doesn't like the color, OMG YOU HAVE CUPS THAT ARE SITTING ON THE TABLE THAT ARE DIRTY WE'LL HAVE ANTS AND MICE ANY DAY NOW!!11!1!oneoneeleventy.

We agreed mutually that none of us would survive living together.

The second room mate has been asking us since the middle of April if she could move in. And every time that the day of the move comes around, she doesn't show up. It's now almost a month and a half later, and she still isn't here.

So now we have 0 roomates almost two months after we've moved into our house, and all of our other friends don't need a place to live. My BF doesn't want to check on roomates.com or anything....

    Blarg!

Anyone not crazy and live in MN (or are willing to move to MN? ) who need a room to stay in?

I had a roomate once at my old place that was like that. Except she technically wans't a roomate, she was a boarder. I owned the house, she rented a room. She seemed to think her name was on the mortgage.

I got a fishtank in my bedroom and she raises an eyebrow and says "I didn't know we were getting fish." As if she thought I needed her permission.

Eventually, she ended up going out the door on the end of my boot. And I mean that very, very literally. Not because of that, there were other things.

Best roomate I ever had was a divorced guy who worked an opposite schedule than I did so we only ever were awake in the house together once every two weeks. I think we got along so well because we never saw each other.

      Sounds just like her...

My crazy first told us that we "could only have one dog," and got PISSED when we ended up adopting two.

Told us that her cat was allowed to do anything and go anywhere in the house that it wanted, and got mad at me when I said that I wanted no animals in the basement.

And when we (by we, I mean my boyfriend and I) were fixing things up in the house, she tried to demand a key to the house (a month before she was going t move in)

Flipped when we wanted to spend money to..y'know, put the house to city code, and not on repainting it right away.

When we were looking at houses, she would say things like "If you get /this/ one, I won't move in" "That room is not big enough for me." "Oh, THAT has GOT to go". The comments were so bad that our buyer's agent actually made a comment about her when she didn't come one day.

I guess she would have been a boarder too, since it's My boyfriend and I's house, and she was just renting a room from us.

I wish we could have a renter like the second one you posted about Heh.
