If I had to pick favorites, I'd go with Gravekeeper, Jester, Irv, Lupo, BookstoreEscapee, Kara, and blas. I love a whole lot more, but there's too many to name!

my first summer job was at a scout camp, there were just over 30 people on staff, 7 of us had the same name... yeah, we all got nicknames on day two )
Sounds like Store1...I swear they had a policy of keeping 4 Daves and 3 Adams on staff at all times There were also two Pats, both female, with the same last initial (actually, they're both still there).

I've been rather fortunate throughout my work life. Though I have been in the work force since 1986, and I have a fairly common first name, I have almost never worked with someone else with my name. There have been short time periods where I have, but for whatever reason, those others with my name worked at my place of employment for only a short time.

Which means if you have my name and you get a job at my place, don't get settled in too comfortably....you won't be here long.

there are a few people that I still refer to primarily by their CS names... Like Fenrus and Broom (oh, there's another one to add to my post) because they have the same first name as me, and that just seems weird calling someone else by my name (that's actually how I got my nickname, and why I often times still use Smiley IRL... my first summer job was at a scout camp, there were just over 30 people on staff, 7 of us had the same name... yeah, we all got nicknames on day two )
Hah! Dude I swear we have at least 2 or 3 people with your name at any given time at work (both current and old job). Glad mines slightly less common.

But for the real names on people, things like SG looks just like one of my friends in high school that had the same name (you didn't happen to used to live in Reno, did you SG )
Nope been in the Houston area my whole life. Never gone any further west than Abilene, Texas. Though I do have a few doppelgangers so I'm not surprised.

EQ, well she looks and sounds like you'd expect someone named (EQ) to look and sound
              That she does...

Way back when in my early days at Store1, I acquired the nickname "Bob." Oddly enough, I have never worked with another Bob. A Robert, for a while, who went by Robert, but never a Bob.

I read everyone's stuff as well, because there are always gems of EW-ness or stupidity to be had. But even my husband inquires every week if Gravekeeper has posted anything new. I also love blas' Ann stories and smileyeagle's tales of the horror hotel.

I've never even met a Bob. People nicknamed Bob sure, but never named.

Well, neither have I, but I've never worked with anyone who was nicknamed Bob, either.

I knew a guy named Billy Bob. That wasn't a nickname either, it was the name on his birth certificate. He took pride in being the biggest hick in town.

Bigger than the parents who would actually name their kid Billy Bob?

oddly enough, with the exception of my first job and the call center (which had 500 people, so almost everyone had multiples) I have never had a job where there has been more than one person with my name.
Oh well, at least I have a rather uncommon last name... in my entire life I have met only one person (not related) who had the same last name... and he spells it wrong, so it doesn't count

The only other person I know with my name is my mother. And it's not even her actual first name.
