  • I start a New Job next week....

.....and I am SERIOUSLY FREAKING OUT..nightmares and all.

I have never been this nervous before in my life, Its crazy. I dont typically react like this to anything..Id consider myself a clear minded, level headed kind of person. I cant sleep, it's getting hard to eat.

    Holy Shit.

Someone come over here and smack me!

You'll be fine!!! Just learn as much as possible and don't be afraid to ask, ask, ask!!! I'm in a different field, but I'm glad I asked as many questions as I did when I started over 6 months ago. It's better than taking a guess and screwing things up the hard way! It also makes you seem approachable and more people will think favorably of you.

I'm not sure if you've told us or not, but is there a particular field of nursing you're going into? My former roommate just got her BSN and is now in labor and delivery. I always admired her, and now you too GOOD LUCK!!!!

      Um...will this do?

      Or maybe one of these?

How come we don't have a "Good Luck" smiley?

        Hmmm... a good smacking?

How about a liplock with the person of your choice?

I agree. Is Gerard Butler a part of this board then? He's my choice...

Im getting into Cardiac Nursing (monitoring post heart attack and things like that.) Theyre making me take classes of course so I can brush up on skills and learn new ones. Im just scared .Im going to be in charge of peoples lives and its freaking me out...just a teensy bit. LOL.

Thanks for the Good Luck. I need it. I start Wednesday. I think next week may just be an orientation/paper work week, so I may have a couple more days of sanity.

          I feel like this though:

A new job is always hard - had too many of them over the last couple of years.

When you walk into the new place, don't forget that they hired you because

            It helps with the jitters.

Good Luck and Conga Rats for the new job!

I got a little card in the mail today from my new manager! it was signed by her and some employees welcoming me to the team...Awwwww.. lol. I hope theyre this thoughtful and friendly when I actually meet them all and start.

              Still freaking out slightly though.

I'm having the same problem, except I don't have a job in my field yet. I'm terrified of working by myself because it's one thing to be set loose as a student since the real techs are always there to make sure you didn't screw up. It's quite another to be completely on your own without a safety net.

But, everyone else has survived the transition, so we can too!
