I'm going to go in for the dang operation again soon, and Ill have the same pre-op team and be in the same room up on the wards over night...so I want to bring a pair of gift baskets, one for pre-op and one for the ward nurses ... we were thinking individually wrapped chocolates and candies, but Im thinking something a bit healthier might be in order .... any suggestions?

Get a reputable florist to make you fruit and gourmet items gift baskets. They'll fix it up nicely with enough wrapping on the fruits and items so that sanitation isn't a worry.
I make up baskets like that for the OR team and the doctors office when my teenage daughter had surgery earlier this year. They were very well received. No one ever really thanks those folks.
