  • HELP! Who sings this?

I'm trying to find who sings this song, and Google refuses to help me.

    The chorus goes:

I get so high when I see you go by
    I feel so shy

Cuz I wanna dance with you and I don't know what to do
I can't keep my eyes off you and I don't know what to do
I've got a crush on you

    Anybody?
I can post more lyrics if anyone thinks it'll help.
I don't go in for ancient wisdom
I don't believe just 'cause ideas are tenacious
It means that they're worthy - Tim Minchin, "White Wine in the Sun"

Is it insanity to reason with the voices in your head or to ignore them and hope they go away on their own? - Hod from Brat-halla

Lead singer is a guy. I want to say it's a local-type Jersey band so I don't know if anyone will be able to help. It's one of those things that is in my brain somewhere and if I see the name of the band I will recognize it. But it just won't come to me.

I believe the song is called "Crush" (or maybe "I've got a crush on you"). Probably from the early 2000s. (Possibly late '90s but I don't think so.)

When I see you at the club
      [something I can't quite catch]
I wish I had the guts to stop and talk to you

I would tell you that I think you're [something]
But I'm such a fool no I'm such a fool
      Cuz I never even try
Every time I catch your eye
      Every glimpse I turn away

I get so high (when I see you go by)
      I feel so shy
Cuz I wanna dance with you but I don't know what to do
And I can't keep my eyes off you and I don't know what to do
I've got a crush on you

Yes, it doesn't conform to any set of lyrics I can Google-fu either. There's hundreds of songs with that title, each more horrible and stalker like than the last. But none of them have lyrics remotely close to that. I can't even get a hit on exact matches for single lines. ><

Maybe its just a local band?

I think it was a local band. I used to hear it on a local station, about 4 incarnations ago (as they get progressively more mainstream and just recently officially went Top 40 ) and they used to play all kinds of local and indie and good stuff. Stuff like the Ramones and the Smithereens and Dramarama (they used to have a live version of "Anything, Anything" from a show they sponsored at a bar near me which was awesome, then they changed owners and stopped playing it ) which I don't hear on the radio too much anymore.

On the up side, I did find a song on iTunes tonight that I have been looking for on and off for years. "Seaside Tony" by 7Minds which if you are not from the Jersey Shore area you will probably not find quite as hilarious as I do.

Because I know you're all just dying to know...

I found the list of songs from the CD it was on.

              The song is called "Crush"
              The band is Evelyn Forever

Thanks to anyone who tried to help.

edit: A special thanks to persephone and her friend who actually knew it
