Or more so...Mechanic suck.
SO I wrote earlier that my car was having some troubles. Well we took it too my moms mechanic... I have never liked them. It took them almost a whole work week to diagnose the problem when they had originally said 2 days tops. (this I don't mind so much)
The problem you see was the PCM or ECM depending on who you order the part from. It is basically the brain that runs the car. Now we had previously told her that when they found out what the problem was to call us BEFORE she Okayed the repair. Good thing to.
These ass faces told her the part would cost her $350. Now we looked all up and down the internet, called around. And the most expensive we could find this part for (specially if it was for a Licensed business) was $200something. Napa Auto who is right down the street from this particular shop sells the part for brand new for $105. This pissed me off to no end. they were trying to over charge my mum by $150 at the LEAST.
We went to Spaldings, and got a grade A used part with a 6 month warranty for $86...brought it in and gave it to them.
They were none to happy about this.
But now my car runs like a gem, and my mother is NOT going back to them ever. She has been a loyal customer of theirs for all her cars for the last 5 years, but that was the last straw for her.
To top this off... I noticed yesterday, there is a lovely chip in my windshield that was not there before we brought it in... I have no way to PROVE they did it... but I know they did. I'm the only one who drives that car...and I freak out when I even hear a tap on my window.....
