I kind of want to buy one of these:

I'm not sure I should though! But I kind of want it. But I'm not sure I should!

You can never have too many plants, and that one looks cool. It looks like a type of pitcher plant? I love the teeth on it

wikipedia says a type of carpenter ant loves it -- and will make a colony near/on it (they retrieve big dead bugs inside the pitchers)....

who knows if it'd be a problem if in a house or porch something.

Well, if there are carpenter ants from Borneo on my porch to colonize it, I think I already have big problems!

I think I am going to get it, but I'm going to wait until the shipment I ordered last week has come and until I have everything planted, so I can be sure I have room for it.

(And yes, it's a kind of pitcher plant. I just love the fangs! It looks like it could bite you! Though it can't. Now if you could somehow crossbreed that with venus fly traps, so it can close the lid on prey... that would be the most awesome carnivorous plant ever!)

What is your reservation about getting it? Are you out of space or is it too expensive or are you afraid it'll give you nightmares?

Actually, it's kind of cute...reminds me of a snake wearing a frilly hat.

It's not terribly expensive, but costs add up and I've bought a lot of silly crap lately. I'm supposed to be saving up for my wedding! (And while I'm sure I can find a place to put it, things are getting a bit crowded here.) But this month is my birthday, so I think it's going to be my birthday gift to me.

                  Sweet plant

You don't have many inscets coming into your apartment do you?

How are you feeding all of them? I've always wanted to get another venus fly trap (mine got over watered when I was at camp) and have a George II.

Well, they don't need insects to survive, they just tend to thrive a little better when fed regularly.

For most of my plants I have dried bloodworms. The venus fly traps generally need live food, they actually have a clever little mechanism to avoid trying to digest twigs, dead leaves, drops of rainwater, bugs that actually escaped, etc, and will only actually eat what they close on if it keeps fighting after the trap shuts! Kind of cool. But my fly traps will be living outside once I get them in their planter, so they'll have plenty of bugs out there to catch.

Ah ha ha ha ha ha!

I just started a sale that's going far better than anticipated.

I am totally buying it right now!
