ME: "So why did you guys break up?"
HER: "The way the relationship was going, it was obvious we were not going to succeed as a couple, so rather than continue it, I ended it. It was all for the best."

So, what is significant about the above exchange that took place earlier today? The person I was talking to was my 15-year-old niece, Dragon!

I told her she sounded like a 40-year old with that nugget. I meant it as a compliment, and she took it as such. Definitely not your typical teenage "Like, you know, he kinda sucked. And, ya know, I was over it." Not at all!

Out of the mouths of babes, indeed!

Growing up my ass. She's wiser in many ways than a lot of my friends in their 20's, 30's, or 40's!

If only we could all see so clearly when it comes to relationships.

Sounds like that one's got a good head on her shoulders

She does. She just doesn't use it as much as she should.

Well, what do you expect, Jester? She's 15! OF COURSE she's not going to use it as much as she should!

I expect perfection from my nieces, of course!

May she always see so clearly through the veil that is "love". Good girl!

Well, then, Jester my friend... I'm afraid there's lots of disappointment to come for you, because NOBODY'S perfect!

Well.... except for me, of course. Because I'm a NOBODY, so therefore, I'm PERFECT!
