  • New Puppy! Warning: Image Heavy

Well, I went and got my Mini Doxie. Poor little guy doesn't have a name yet, though. I have lots in mind, I just can't decide Some of the ones I've tossed around:

    Beckett
    Remy
    Zero
    Geoffrey
    Linus
    Cutler
    Neville
    Lupin
    Frodo
    Ziggy

And I do hereby solemnly swear to never, ever dress him up in a hot dog bun costume or name him anything to do with a frankfurter or sausage, so help me God.

He seems really scared now, he keeps shivering and only wants to snuggle into me as tightly as possible. Poor lil' dude! He's making me feel bad for taking him away from his family.

I have read all the names and looked at the cuteness that is your Mini Doxie.

My vote is for Cutler! It just seems the best. ANd he is SOOO CUTE! I wish I could have a puppy. *check my calendar* Only 4 years to go! WOOO!

The majority so far seem to be tied in favor of Linus and Cutler. Linus would definitely fit after the Peanuts character, because this guy can't seem to sleep without some kind of blanket on or around him. Although when I started considering the name, it was more after this guy I also thought about maybe calling him Emerson, after the actor.

Linus sounds good; so does Neville.

When I had a dachshund, many years ago, her name was Sabra (sp?). Dad said it was Turkish, and meant something like 'of the earth,' which fit 'cause she was so little. She was a good dog who happily fulfilled her duty of protecting her adopted cubs (me and my sister) from the local toads.

I miss her. This was maybe 20 years ago, though, so she's long since gone to Doggy Heaven.

He looks like a Linus. Now if you will excuse me

There better now. He is bigger then my Mom's Taco Bell dog (can't spell) when she was a baby. She snuggled a lot too. Still does. Especially in the front of shirts when I babysit and playing on my laptop.

And I think I have another outburst coming

                        oh, names, right.

I like Beckett. But then again, I would be the one to name dogs after European playwrights ("Here, Beckett! Ionesco, stop chewing on the rug! Don't poop on the carpet, Genet!!")

I always end up naming my pets 'weird' stuff, or at least that's what people tell me. Most of them are after characters of some kind. I've had a Murray, Mumble, Sawyer, Mort, Strider, and now this lil guy still awaiting something to be called. I'm happy to report that he's not as narcoleptic as he was last night, and he came quite alive around 5:30 this morning to do a number two. I was very pleased though, that he actually made enough noise to wake me up so I could take him outside instead of just pooping in his box.

EDIT: Well, we've finally settled on what to call him, and it's not even from my original list. We're calling him Lando
