  • It finally happened

We had to put our dog Princess (who is my avatar and well, I talked quite a bit about her on these forums) down tonight. I knew this day was going to come and I thought I was prepared for it but I'm having my doubts. Anyway she couldn't really walk and didn't eat anything today. She had a hard time going to the bathroom lately. We knew she wouldn't make it tomorrow so my parents decided it just be better if we put her to sleep.

I plan on writting more in my blog on Myspace tomorrow.

Sorry about losing your dear puppy. She looked like a sweetie.

You made the right decision...we never want our loved ones to suffer.

Besides, now she is chasing a ball and doing whatever it is dogs like to do that make us laugh at them.

Thanks everyone. I took the day off from work and mom did as well because we need some time to grief. It's kind of hard realizing I won't see her anymore but instead in the pictures we took of her. She was 14 and half years old and we had her since she was a 6 week old puppy so we had some wonderful times with her.

I know it hurts, Robyn, but you did the right thing by her. She's not suffering now.

Take your time, grieve for her, remember that she loved you as much as you loved her. It hurts to lose a friend, but it's worth the pain to have that friendship and unconditional love.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

It's healthy to grieve and you and your family do need some time for that. But always remember your Princess and the good times and know she's playing with the other dogs and cats over on Rainbow Ridge while she's waiting for the rest of you to join her one day.

Your myspace blog about Princess was really beautiful.

I can't imagine what it must be like to lose a friend like that. (My mother hates animals) Please know my heart goes out to you.

I"m sure Princess is scampering about in the Big Dog Park in the Sky, having all the fun she couldn't when she was sick.
