  • Buying Cigarettes Online

Like 5 years ago my parents used to always buy their cigarettes online. They were cheap and shitty but they were CHEAP. Is that even still legal, and if so can anyone recommend a good site to buy them from?

I've been doing some looking and there's still quite a number of websites where one can purchase cigarettes - even some of the more popular name brand cigs - for less than what you pay for locally.

Some sites, however, are priced comparable to local pricing (or higher than my area) and you also have to find out where the site originates from.

The USA run sites will usually offer higher pricing. You can check with some of the EU based sites to see what brands are offered and their pricing.

While I've not yet started purchasing my smokes online, I'm planning to do that soon. At least it'll save time and money in the long run.

As an example, you can check here (this is where I"ve so far found the best pricing.)

Or if you want more sites to choose from, just Google cheap cigarettes/discount cigarettes to get more results.

You've got to be careful with these sites though. How they work is you're responsible for the state taxes. And if asked these web sites will turn over information on anyone that buys cigarettes from that state.

I know two people that for years were buying cigarettes online for themselves, neighbors, friends, etc. One of them had to be selling them to make extra money cause the state sent one a tax bill for like $3k the other one has a lien on his house now for like 30k

Some of my coworkers were buying those super cheap smokes online, probably less than $20 a carton, for what seemed like forever.

Then they got nailed......I don't recommend trying to cut corners to avoid having to pay the higher taxes.

Just go to a tobacco shop and buy a machine and supplies, and you'll still be saving quite a bit of money.

It's a shame that cigarettes are becoming a black market cause of all the taxes they add on. Not that you're allowed to smoke any where anymore.....

Cigarette taxes and smoking restrictions are better left for Fratching. We've got quite a few threads about smoking.

            Here's the most recent:

It's funny when you buy your own paper and tobacco by the can and then roll them yourself and people call the cops on you because they think you're smoking pot in pubic.

When I used to smoke I found it cheaper anyway to do that and roll my own Bugler cigarettes.

I got one up on that a customer that comes into our store is trying to grow his own tobacco to save money. His thought is that if you can grow pot in your basement or something that you should be able to grow tobacco as well.

Honestly I think it's possible, worthwhile? probably not. But I told him just watch out for people calling the cops on him people would probably think he's growing weed

My one friend rolls her own, and one day when we'd planned for me to visit her, she called me right before I left asking me to pick up some papers for her, as she'd just run out. She had plenty of tobacco, just needed the papers. I stopped at a convenience store on the way over so I could get them for her. They didn't say anything, but I'm pretty sure I know what they were thinking.

In Australia, growing your own is illegal. (for the same reason distilling your own spirits is illegal - taxes).

So you've only got one friend?

Where I used to work, we got king sized papers. About a month afterwards, late night snack food sales went up.

Actually, if you own a rolling machine and purchase filters with your papers and tobacco, they look just like any other cigarette. Not at all like marijuana joints.

The only safe way to get cheap cigarettes (around here at least) is go to to another state. Here's it's normally New Hampshire, and pay cash for the cigs.

I'm only 15 miles from the Indiana state line. There are plenty of tobacco stores within a mile of the Illinois state line.

                            Very true.

We stopped doing that, though, when I kept breaking the rolling machines.
