A new chapter in the Fanghood ... I just got accepted into Red Cross. I'll be joining a team of IT/radio geek freaks who respond internationally to set up the PCs/comms for the Red Cross responders actually doing the dirty work required wherever they're going.
The team was last deployed to Haiti in response to Hurricane Gustav. I could go anywhere in the world, but most likely the Pacific region.
So uh, if I go missing some time, it's probably that.
Sounds like a fun thing to do. A good way to get involved, give back, etc. Utilise my work skills in a way that benefits the world somehow instead of just benefitting me with a paycheck.
