But I'm gonna post anyway. I forgot my mascara this morning, so I had to go without. Curled my eyelashes anyway--gotta do something, right?--and put some eyeliner on the inside rims. (Yes, I know it's not adviseable, but I've not had problems). It looks better than my usual just-mascara routine. So apparently I've been wasting money on mascara all these years. Plus, I always wear waterproof to hold the curl, & it's impossible to remove. Wish I'd figured this out sooner.

I'm not a mascara wearer, because my lashes are naturally thick, dark, and long.
don't kill me ladies
anyway a little liner right against the lashline and a quick curl of the lashes and I'm off! ^_^"If looks could really kill, my occupation would be staring" Brand New - I Will Play My Game Beneath The Spin Light

Little mineral oil (or almond oil or olive oil) on a cottonball will take waterproof eye makeup and mascara right off.
Ah, yes. You just can't beat a good eyelash curler. Although I like to use one after I've applied mascara. Amazing effect.
And another thing you can't beat is eyeliner applied to the inner lid. that gives you such smokey eyes. On me, doesn't last forever, but you can't beat the effect for a short time while it lasts.
Here's another little trick. Instead of using a dark eyeliner, try a whitish or white-blue one to your inner lid, and then apply the dark liner to the outer lid where you normally would.
The effect of the white liner is to make your inner lid look like part of your eyeball...thus making your eyes look huge.

I don't wear eyeliner or mascara at all...except for very special occasions. Usually, my day-to-day wear is just eyeshadow, a bit of lipstick/lipgloss and that's about it. Even then, it's usually fairly pale...I like pastels
just wish they'd have nailpolish in pale shades...

On the rare occasion I wear make up I brush on bare minerals, a bare minerals blush, then mascara and lavender eye shadow, with a reddish bronze gloss.
It has the effects of making my skin tone even w/ a natural looking blush on my cheeks and my eyes stand out.(My eyes are naturally blue.)

Fireheart, you can get french manicure sets in very pale, natural shades. You don't have to use the whole "french manicure" mess, just layer on a few coats of the pale, pastel shades that come with the kit.
You can even get kits with a collection of pale shades like that...I had one that had buff, beige, and pale pink all in one kit. Was pretty cheap, too.

I didn't know there was such a thing. I must have pictures!
EDIT: Immediately went to see some pics on line. Wow! How do they stay on, do they work like false eyelashes? I used to wear the single hair falsies for special occasions, but they are a bit time consuming to apply, so I eventually stopped using them. These look georgeous!Last edited by RecoveringKinkoid; 06-29-2009, 02:45 PM.

I have NO IDEA how they work - I'm assuming same as hair extensions - and according to TBS (Tall BLond Sis) it only took about 30 minutes for both. They really looked brilliant, her eyes really popped...The report button - not just for decoration
