What, like I'd let the 4th of July go by without giving my little guy a mission?? (and yes, I know it's the 1st, but we're closed on the 3rd, and some people are gone tomorrow)

He's delivering Jolly Ranchers this time--for me, they're the quintessential summer candy.

I was impressed: he just went through his first set of batteries. That means he performed three all-office deliveries and several test runs, while dragging weights up to 1 pound, turning his head, speaking threats, and having his eye glow. All on ONE SET of four AA batteries. That's damn good for an r/c toy.

I keep looking for something like that for him, but haven't found anything yet. Plus, I need to hook up some sort of permanent harness for him. Right now, it's just a jury-rigged thing of cardboard, paper clips, and scotch tape!

Maybe one those race car kits under a wooden tray would work for a wagon. I think I've seen a small wagon at Hobby Lobby.
On a patriotic Doctor Who note- I was in CVS the other day- the one in Fayetteville, NC near the C.F.V. hospital. There was a sign advertising a photo contest for best patriotic photo, of a dog I think... can't remember exactly. Anyway, there was a picture with it of K9 with the American flag. It made my day.

I was babysitting my god-daughter tonight, and performed my solemn godmotherly duties properly, as you can see from the pics.
