  • Not a good week

Damn, this week has not been good to me.

    1. Weather, it's way to hot for me, hell it's 18 degrees celcius and that's too hot, I prefer 15 and under, otherwise i'm just rendered useless, hell, I put on a tshirt and I'm sweating buckets.

    2. My bank card ended up not being recognised, so i had to send off for a new one (5 days wait) then when i try the new one, that's not recognised either, so today, i got up early to go to the bank (remember the temperature and how bad i am in it?) 3/4 of a mile away, which I of course have to walk. I get up there, try it on one of the cash machines there and lo and behold, it works, when i got back, went to the shop and tried it again, lo and behold it's just that particular machine

    3. I got hit hard by viruses/malware, so hard infact that it bluescreened by PC (which in the 3 years of having it, it's never done that once) tried a few proggies to clean it, but still a bit infected and i may have to reformat it (luckily i kept all the drivers etc on a removable hard drive) I also end up getting redirected sometimes when searching for something and clicking on the resultant links and I'm blocked from accessing any anti virus/malware/spyware website. oh and Microsoft too

    4. To top it all off, my neighbour threatened to jump me and do me in, why you ask...? Because I didn't give him a cigarette because...I DIDN'T HAVE ANY!

What else can go wrong this week.

We got hit with that not too long ago. Our comp was bought second had from a friend, so we didn't even have the start-up disks. When Mr Jedi gets home, I'll ask him what he did to finally get rid of it, but you probably will be better off wiping the machine clean and reinstalling.

Seems like it's going around...maybe you guys passed it to me???(ok, I think I got mine first... )

My anti-virus and firewall actually got shut down by this particular nasty. So, I went online and did an online virus scan through Avast - Avast found nothing. Malwares, on the other hand, found over 30 infected files in the first 30 seconds... hmmmmm.

In the end, it seems to have corrupted the FATs for 2 of my partitions (one partitition was apparently 1TB... on a 500G HDD - cool... well, no, not really). I ended up having to start from absolute scratch... so I lost about 100G in stuff (fortunately, I bought an external, so saved the most important stuff!)

Well, Hubs doesn't remember. But we did end up having to download at least two virus getter-ridder-ofers to finally nix the little bug. But we had to download them on our laptop and transfer the files to the infected comp. If you've got your data backed up, just wipe it and reinstall. It will be faster and easier.

Yeah got the data backed up (mw windows is on a different partition to the rest of my stuff, it'll be just a case of backing up the registry stuff of my games and stuff (rather than having to entirely reinstall them) So yeah I will end up having to reformat and reinstall windows, once i drag myself to it.

Unsuprisingly, things did get worse, on my 3rd format and my system still isn't clean, plus, on top of that, on sunday i spiralled into a massive bout of depression, so much so that i didn't even want to turn on my computer to try and fix it (and if you knew me you'd know how odd that is, because of my back, i'm housebound so i'm on the computer pretty much from when i wake up till i go to sleep)

I don't even know where the depression came from, i've periodically suffered bouts of depression but they were all fairly light and not as bad as this.

No, I'm not on any medication for it and probably won't, partly because of how i am, i see it as my burden to bear and secondly, my principles, hell i don't even like taking asprin or anything unless the need is dire.
