Waiting for the Playstation 3 to drop in price

I want to buy a Playstation 3 BUT I'm waiting until it drops down to about $199. That's how much I bought my Playstation 2 when I bought it in 2002 & I still have it!! I have the original "fat" model.

Well, when/if you get one, make sure it has a large hard drive. I've already filled mine :/

I got one of the 80 gig ones about 6 months ago. It was expensive, yes, but it was worth it. I have found exactly two games that can lag it, and I go out of my way to find PS3 versions of all my games if they aren't 360 exclusives. I only bother with my wii at all anymore for multiplayer brawl when my friends and I get bored.

You've got a loooooooooooooooooooooong wait then. It's still retailing for about $400 (new, from walmart.com), and they're releasing a "Slim" version soon, which will probably lower the possibility of a price drop, since smaller components cost more to make.

Good luck. Sony Announced that price for the PS3 will stay at it's current level for at least another year.

I doubt the thing will ever drop to $199. Maybe $299 or $349, but I can't see $199. With everything that device has, I think $399 is a decent price.

Blu-ray is insanely amazing.

I bought one in February used, but new condition from someone off craig's list, with two games for about 250 bucks. I love it, still have the ps2 also.
