  • I did something.....

I swore I wouldn't do it. I PROMISED myself I'd never do it. It's foolish and there's no point. But I did it anyway...

Mouse over to reveal my wicked deed:
    I started playing WoW again.

    Oh, God, forgive me!
I have a...thing. Wanna see it?

        *sigh*

Nurian, Nurian, Nurian... You should know better by now. There are so many BETTER RPGs that you could be playing, and they're ones that DON'T charge a monthly fee to play them!

Just off the top of my head, here's some games you could be playing instead:
        • Neverwinter Nights 2 (which now has 2 official expansion packs, plus TONS of community-created modules available for download!)
        • Fallout 3 (Best RPG of 2008, and it now has no less than 3 Downloadable Content Modules to give you more gameplay! The first 2 are even available on an expansion disc that you can pick-up for only $20, if you want to have them on a physical disc instead of having to d/l them! )
        • Fable II (but that's only on the Xbox 360, as far as I know)
        • Mass Effect (if you haven't played this incredible science fiction RPG from Bioware, just turn in your Role Player's License RIGHT NOW, because you ought to be ashamed of yourself! )
So, yeah, who needs World of Warcrack? NOT I!!!

Ummm, I've played and beaten all of those. In fact, I still own Mass Effect, Fallout 3 and NWN2. I don't know why I want to play WoW again except that I'm enjoying it. Weird, huh?

              Orly?
              1. Have you purchased, installed, and played through BOTH official expansion packs for NWN2?
              2. Have you purchased/downloaded, installed, and played through all the available expansions for Fallout 3?
              3. Have you played through Mass Effect a second time, with a different character type and making different choices along the way, to see how that affects the game?
If you answered ALL of the above with "YES", then it's time you started exploring the world of community created modules for NWN2!

One of the absolute best features of the NWN games is the Tool Kit that ANYONE can use to create adventure modules, because that feature has given those games basically UNLIMITED replay value! There's always people creating new adventure modules for you to play! So, you get that high replay value that you'd get in an MMORPG, without all that annoying frakkin' player vs. player crap!

--Jack (Who HATES PVP campaigns, and has avoided MMORPGs for just that reason.)

You're enjoying it because you've ended the withdrawal symptoms. It's ELECTRONIC CRACK (hence my use of the name World of WarCRACK) and you've got that monkey on your back, THAT'S why you went back to it.

Meh. Me too. I just get tired of it once in awhile. I'm over on the Steamweedle Cartel RP server, Alliance side. Got a nice, friendly, non-raiding guild to play with. Look for Phenri if you want to say hey.

Apples to oranges. Sure, they all fall under the heading of RPG (no Planescape Torment? for shame), but WoW is an MOG. People play WoW for the M part far more than any RP they could possibly shove in there.

That. That right there is why you're back. Because it's something you can enjoy. As long as you're having fun (and it isn't causing you harm), go for it!

I know I go back to WoW regularly. Hell, I've been paying for the last 5 months and have only played for about 2 days of that time.

Well I know that if I admit I'm playing WoW, my friend will kick me in the . Does that count?

I do enjoy being in a world with a lot of other people. I tend to solo a lot (love the Hunter) but I don't mind helping people.

                      That's how I am, too.

I'm almost always playing solo, but I like that there's a community running around in the same space I'm in, doing the same sorts of things. And being able to help others out or give advice is awesome.
