  • Anyone else here hooked on True Blood?

Forgive me if there is a post regarding this show already...

...I am COMPLETELY hooked on this show. I haven't been this interested in a series since Sopranos. (Another fine HBO hit) I mean, I watched the episode last night and I can't stop thinking about it...wondering, waiting, pondering...the next move of the writers!!!

I'm hooked! I love this show!!!! Anyone else?

I noticed that she's publishing two books this year. Did she drop the Harper books?

I started reading the books when I saw the third one in a book store, so that was years ago. The series is taking a turn from the books, so I'm also waiting to see what happens.

I love love love the show. Started watching right before season 2 started. Did a mini marathon over 2/3 days to watch them all.

Read the books, but haven't seen the show yet (we don't get the movie channels). Season 1 is next up on Netflix though. Can't wait to see them.

That's how I got into it. I was flipping channels one night, nothing on...came across True Blood. Looked interesting, turned out, HBO was airing episode 7, 8, & 9 of the first season that night in preparation for the second season. Over the next week before the new season started, I marathoned Season 1 to catch up.

                      I absolutely LOVE this show!

Of those watching...what is Mary Ann? Oh....I don't know if I want you to tell me or if I can wait til the writers reveal it.

I came to this series from a rather different direction. Frankly, one day I saw a promo for it, and saw that Anna Paquin was in it, so I gave it a watch when it premiered (the very first episode). What can I say? I've got a thing for Anna Paquin. I admit it.

That being said, that first episode drew me in, and HOW. I do not have a thing for vampire shows/movies/books, but neither do I have an aversion to them. But this show, this series, is so well-written, so well produced, acted, etc., so well DONE....and so different....how can you not love it?

And I have a request for posters here....please, if you give out any spoilers (say you've seen an episode before us, or you've read the books and have an idea what something is or where it is going), please, do NOT tell us....or at least white it out and warn us. Half the fun of this series is not knowing what is coming next, and I would be pissed if someone spoiled one of the surprises for me. Yeah, I am wondering what the hell is going on with Mary Ann, but I want the show to tell me, not someone here. Please, please, respect that folks. In other words (bad vampire pun coming), don't suck!

I agree with Jester about the spoilers, but someone HAS to tell me....how close to the books is the series?

Books? These are books? I've heard vague rumblings about the show but didn't know they were books!

Who is the author? I might have to look into getting these!

Charlaine Harris is the author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Not a bad series. I've seen season 1 of the series, but only read the first 2 books. They veer off, naturally, as most series made from books do, but they're still both intriguing.

I found a set of the first 6 books in the series at Borders for $50. Didn't have the money, but, OH so tempting when I do!
