So, I did something stupid last night. I was going to cut up some English cucumbers to prep them for a small salad for this morning. Slight problem, they are individually shrink-wrapped. So I get my knife wiggled in under the wrapping pretty deep.

Did I mention it is a new and very sharp chef's knife.
Needless to say, when the blade got in enough to actually cut the plastic, it did so very quickly.
Too quickly in fact. No resistance caused the knife to go really quick. Into the side of my thumb about an 1/8" deep.
I have it bandaged now and some antiseptic on it (Zam-buk. If you can find it, buy it!) so it's mostly sealed and healing. Still hurts though.
