  • I'm worried I have swine flu

I have not been feeling quite myself for a few days. Not really ill, just tired. Now I have a few mild flu symptoms - head ache, cold/hot flushes, sore throat etc.

So I'm worried I have swine flu. I'm waiting for the doctor to call me back.

    Hugs dear.

Remember this targets teens. Fluids, fluids and fluids.. Oh did I say fluids? :P
Many hugs and no rectal thermometers!

Cinema Guy, if you have it stay in your own part of the Midlands

I have heard that the schools will be closing an extra 6 weeks to slow down the spread of the flu(mine are doing my head in already and they only broke up on Friday).

Just spoke to the doctor. He confirmed I have it. My gf brought a stock of paracetamol (and locozade, orange juice and chicken soup) this morning. She will be getting my tamiflu this afternoon.

I am currently on a two week holiday from work, was going to visit my parents tomorrow, since it is my dad's 65th birthday.

          This sucks.

I've been exposed to it afair few times now, you're awfully unlucky to catch it!

Good news is that it's (for most people) half way between a common cold and normal 'flu in severity.

I don't feel that ill. It isn't as bad as a cold.

word of warning; don't go overboard on the Lucozade, It has a slight laxative effect, which when combined with large amounts of fluids and a mostly liquid diet (soups etc) does not a good combo make. (lets just say I found out the hard way)

other than that, hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for your good wishes guys.

My earlier comment about not feeling ill - well now I do. I just can't keep warm. I have a shirt, jumper and cardigan on and am contemplating putting the heating on.

I had a really bad night last night, plagued by dreams of trying to make a moon rocket out of my two duvets. When I I woke up I was suprised to find there was no rocket. Only to go back to sleep and try again. I finally woke up at about 6 and couldn't sleep. Came downstairs for an hour, had something to eat and surfed CS for a while, then went back to bed and slept soundly till noon. But alas I don't feel any better for it.

At least you'll have immunity now, but I'm still sorry for it happening. Your Dad will understand, though.

Yesterday evening, was worried about it myself - sore throat started. However, it's about gone by now (overnight), and that's all I had. Sod it - heading into work. I skulk in a corner on a Friday.

I've been trying to figure out when I caught it. I looked up the incubation period: 2-5 days.

5 days puts it on exactly my last day of work at the cinema, prior to my holiday. Or the first day of Harry Potter.

So it is all that wizard's fault.
