Friday my roomate and I got the keys to the first place I've ever rented. It's an awesome townhouse we were lucky to find. The whole thing's been awesome. We managed to fit everything into the living room that we wanted to and while my room is a bit smaller than I realized, other than needing to figure out a good solution for a small bookshelf (since we have two big ones downstairs anyway) I've managed to fit in everything I needed to. Day before yesterday I got in the rest of my furniture and today hopefully I will be putting up all my glow in the dark stuff (of which there is a lot).

The townhouse is on a golf course, so our backyard is this spacious green area with the occational golf cart and beer cart. There are very few issues and I'm hoping that the landlord will take care of them quickly. Just wanted to share my excitement about finally being out and renting a place.

    Congrats on the new nest!

That brings back memories - decorating for the first time on my own, eating when and where I wanted - even if it was icing from a can for lunch!

    Have fun!

small book shelf= closet even if its jusr a little bi fold door one because unless its to big to cose the doors around most shirts and pants can fit around a bookcase if its small and im fairly certain you dont have dresses right

Yay for you! You have mostly old stuff, right? Buy 1 new thing to celebrate, something colorful and fun that's tied in your memory to this townhouse.

I was thinking about that. The bookshelf would in theory fit in the closet, and since it will eventually have wheels, it'd wheel out easy enough. The only problem is the shelf/rod thing is lower than I was thinking meaning most of my clothes would be dragging on the first shelf unless I got something different. I don't have too many dresses and it's a wide enough closet (5 feet?) that I could hang them off to one side or the other and have no problems. Just don't know how I feel about stuff dragging on the top shelf or not. If it looks like we might be there a while, part of me is tempted to move the shelf up but who knows.

A year or so ago, I got a storage shed and have been slowly stocking up on stuff for the place. The bed I'm using is a fairly recent purchase and the dresser is one that I got a while back but hadn't used yet. The fact that I have a huge widow sill (the window is set about a foot and a half back into the wall so I have that much of a window sill if that makes sense) and can finally put up some of my colorful stuff my grandpa made helps. Plus, I've been aquiring stuff for so long and finally get to use it all which is exciting. Of course, it turns out that since I hadn't been keeping track of what dishes I have, I now have more glasses than a medium sized family would need but oh well.

Decorating got pushed back to today so hopefully once we're done, I will be getting some taken and I will post the links. I'm eager to show it off but for some reason, I kept forgetting to take pictures and Kaetchen was laughing at me for that one.
