  • Has anyone seen the series "Harper's Island?" (possible spoilers)

I wasn't sure where this thread would go, so I figured better safe than sorry with the spoiler warning in the title.

Boyfriend and I have been watching this series on Netflix recently. We have 2 episodes to go before we're done. I was just curious if anyone else has seen it and what they think.

Personally, I think it started pretty good but has gotten steadily worse the further along we get. It's not really bad, but there have been a LOT of glaringly major plot holes in the last few episodes that just seem to be there in order for the series to go on. Boyfriend mentioned that if any of characters had ever played a pen and paper RPG (like D&D) that the series wouldn't exist because they'd be a lot smarter about what to do as a group (like not splitting up when it's obviously a bad idea.)

    I watched all 13 episodes on Hulu.com.

I <3 Christopher Gorham. I'd invite him in for lunch and coffee and anything else he wanted. (FTR, Christopher Gorham plays Henry Dunn).

The last episode .... well, let's just say the last 20 minutes of it, wasn't really needed.

Otherwise, I thought it was okay. As for everyone going their separate ways when a psycho was running around the island? Bad thing, everyone knows that, but really ... in all horror flicks, it always happens.

More of those characters need to play D&D.

Now I picture a group of peeps in a Horror Film:

Stupid Person: Okay! Let's split up!
Gamer: Haven't you ever played D&D before!? You never split up the group. Bad things happen in D&D when the group is split up!

I disagree. I thought it was awesome. I liked that the show went there. I liked it so much, I decided to look up fanfiction just to explore that ending further. And I hate fanfiction.

Overall, I think it was a cool project. All the elements of a classic whodunnit, including the cheese, but that's part of the fun.

I don't know. I mean I liked Henry telling everything to Abby, but at the same time ... it just felt like an add-on. But that is just me.

Is there really fanfiction for Harper's Island?

That's awesome! I might have to check it out some time.

Okay, here's a question: Who was everyone's favorite character?

Favorite character...hmm. I'd probably go with Cal. He's funny at times but can be serious so he's not ALL comic relief. I also liked the Sheriff. Boyfriend says the Sheriff was probably his favorite character.

We were both sad when Cal and Chloe fell off the bridge. Although we think it's POSSIBLE they're still alive. We haven't watched any more since the last time I posted, so we'll keep our fingers crossed!

Favorite character at first was Cal, but by the finale, it was Henry.

Chloe got on my nerves, although when she tricked that lady to get her ring back, I laughed so hard and I warmed up to her a bit.

My favorite was Henry, but then again, as I said before, I Christopher Gorham.

I loved Cal too. He was just too ... cute! (Plus he was in "Epic Movie").

I liked when Chloe looked at what's-his-name (can't remember Henry's biological dad's name as Child Rum is screaming bloody murder in her room), and says, "You can't have me" and falls off the bridge, I liked her at that moment. She really did love Cal.
