Hmm.Cutenoob, we haven't lined up any of those appointments because his mom has sort of disappeared on us. We are trying to get her to sign a document that states she is handing over custody, which we will have notarized. That's the temporary arrangement until we get an appointment with a good lawyer. She answers her phone on occasion still, but won't respond to anyone asking for the custody document.
Was just thinking about this. Would it be correct protocol to have a process server find her and serve her the papers? Or would it be better for a judge/fam court to declare her "unfit parent" and give you guys full blown custody? (I'm sure those aren't easy short term fixes for this..but thoughts). And yeah, keep the phone log!
