    This stuff is dangerous!!!

    Blue Bell ice cream is on sale at Publix this week. Normally it's like $7 a half gallon but it's $4 a half gallon this week - so normaly I pick up two half gallons - their cookie dough (drooling for about 10 minutes) and dutch chocolate.

    I saw a new flavor today:

    Groom Cake.

    Chocolate ice cream with bits of chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, chocolate covered strawberry (things) and strawberry swirl.

          BTW - their cookies and cream is great, too. They have a lot of other uncommon flavors - banana yogurt ice cream, strawberry / banana split, the traditional rocky road, and many others.

              I had some last night during Eureka.

              I almost had an orgasm.

              The cookie dough - it's not like that hard clumps you get in mass produced ice cream, even good ones like Ben & Jerry's. It's soft (but still hard enough for clumps) - like you made it yourself.

              The groom cake - WOW. WOW.. I had to restrain myself from going back to the freezer and eating the entire half gallon!

              No wonder it's normally $7 a half gallon.

                  Draggar, this is good information to know. While we only have three chain supermarkets (and two local grocery stores) here in KW, one of them is Publix. Normally I am an Albertson's guy, since they are open 24/7, but my roommate and I both go to Publix for the deli, as their deli meats are far superior to anything Albertson's or Winn-Dixie have to offer. (I am speaking only of the KW versions, not commenting on the chains in general.) I will make a point of hitting the ice cream aisle as well.

                  I hope Blue Bell has a good caramelly ice cream. Mmmmm....caramel ice cream.....

                      Get your but to Publix then - they're on sale with a great price. Blue Bell's cookie dough is better than B&J's (but both are the best).

                      I didn't see any caramel ice cream from them, but I really didn't look - many of their flavors have nuts in them (and I'm not a nut fan).

                      I'll also agree - Publix deli (and meat) are the second best around here - next to Whole Foods (but Publix is 1/2 the price as Whole Foods). And - their cobb salads (the ones in the deli - NOT in the produce) are great, too.
