I read a great one in the Etiquette Hell website.

One of the members wrote that one night, she ate something that caused some pretty serious gas. She went to bed, only to wake up an hour later because her kitty (who, evidently, slept with her) was trying to "bury" her butt.

Eireann - Thanks! I almost broke Rule #1!

Shpepper - I never thought to ask my doc for an rx for the pillow. I might try that. See what he says.

I think I've realized what's causing the neck/shoulder pain. When I sleep on my back, I've found the nerve right next to my left shoulder blade. Since I sleep mostly all night on my back, the nerve, I suspect is serverly pinched, causing the pain up to my neck and shoulders. I'm going to have to go back to sleeping on my side. But the pillow still has to go.

Also, Child Rum is getting her imagination into gear! YAY! Plus, school starts September 8 around here. I'm sure there's going to be stories about her at school.

It's worth a shot. The worst the doc can say is no.

YAY for Child Rum school stories. I do hope that you are keeping her stories written down somewhere. They will be priceless to have later in life as well.

Even better, have her write her own stories. You may need to transcribe them for her right now (how well does she write?), but as she gets older she could write them herself.

That's a great idea too. I love kids stories.

Okay, I have a weird cat

Saturday night, I'm lounging on the couch. Child Rum is finally sound asleep in her bed.

Darwin, The Boy Wonder, is lying on the floor in front of the couch, snoozing. Kyra, My Girl Friday, is sitting on the opposite side of the couch.

I make some "clucking" noises, wiggle my fingers at her, and she comes over to investigate. I pet. She leaves. I shrug.

She comes back a few times, and allows me to pet her a few more times, but she won't stay in one place, and keeps moving.

I finally think she's gotten over all the "Pet me now!" drama.

20 minutes later, I'm going up to bed, Kyra is following me. As I do my nighttime rituals, she's meowing up a storm, and demanding that I pet her. She's bumping up against my hands, my ankles, whatever she can touch and her meows are getting louder.

              Why oh why?
