  • Danny's here!

Hey Cat! I hope you didn't put your weather station away!

Looks like possible landfall along Long Island or CT / RI Saturday afternoon - Cat1 or maybe even Cat2.

Ya beat me to the post, draggar

Looks like I'm home bound this weekend...I'm not driving in a 'cane!

I bet the radio stations will be playing "Danny Boy" this weekend

I remember Danny from 97. Got in a car accident when we drove through the remnants. I thought they retired the name.

I hope it stays off shore!

Storms only get retired if they destroy or kill a great deal. Bill was a nasty Cat 4, but we'll see him again in 6 years

Only storm I was in that retired was Gloria.

I'm torn, I kinda want to be hit by a small Cat 1......but I also wanna go out this weekend! HA!

              *sigh*

Well, that's one day lost this weekend. And I kinda needed *all* the days for Dragon*Con prep.

I'm leaving Tuesday morning and driving down. I work until 2130 Friday night. Co-worker's bday party is Friday night....Well, I guess Saturday was kind of a wash anyway.

I hope it doesn't cause too much damage. We've had a lot of trees down lately.

We'll probably get a turbulent trip over there for Dragon*Con since it should be mid Atlantic and dissipating by then.

Say Hi if you see us, the mad British peeps, doing several costumes but I think we are doing Jessie and James from Team Rocket on Saturday after the parade (We are marching with the Weyrfest group as we have done the last few years and changing afterwards).

                    Ooooo...crazy Brits...My favourite kind!

I'll likely be part of the Devil's Panties Forum group, or some small subset thereof. Keep an eye out for either the blue wolf, the red devil in a white suit (I think he's doing that again this year), or the King of the Trolls.

There are, at last count, around 30 (THIRTY!) of us from the DP forums planning on going. This is going to be insane.

Agreed, Danny Boy over played ( and none of my friend who play Irish tunes will play it)

But it will be fun to hear it this weekend.

Hmmmph. Figures. The weekend this (nonworking as) meteorologist quits drinkin', we gets us a storm!

Gloria in in the mid 1980s? Me too. I think you forgot about Bob (1991).

                          For me also:

Frances, Jeanne, Katrina, Rita, Wilma. Well, we were brushed by Rita, but I think that still counts and if you want to get technical, the remnants of Charley hit us while we were in Logan Airport waiting to fly out after my sister's wedding.

His track still puts him very close to RI and MA as a Cat 1 (could be strong Cat 1).

It looks like the tracks are set, too. We may see a lot of storms heading up the coast this year - I think it might not be a bad idea to stock up on canned goods and bottled water. Eh, if you don't get hit - it still stays good.

I always have canned goods and water handy

And Bobby Boy only knicked my part of the state (and at the time, I was up state, so I didn't see much of him) And I don't count Floyd, he was just a tropical storm (do you remember all the stations were playing Pink Floyd? )

and Hyena....that's great....I may steal that quote if ya don't mind

So far it looks like Sat is the worst day, I may be able to get out sometime this weekend!

We playing the who's been in the most hurricanes game? Luckily, I am not in the bull's eye that is South Florida, but I've seen my fair share.

As for retired hurricanes, I went through Opel ('95), Ivan ('04), Dennis ('05), and Katrina ('05). Katrina...I don't know if it counts, as we received the outer bands, but it did additional damage to our house because we had extensive damage from Dennis.

I just thought Danny was a real headache...but you are right--it wasn't that deadly, thankfully.
