Perhaps after spending a couple of days with her at home her personality will provide a name for you.

      For example:
I had a dog I named Lady. Not because I thought Lady was a cool name but it fit her attitude and mannerisms.

          I agree with this.

You say that for every puppy name request...

I agree, names tend to have a way of suggesting themselves as you get to know the animal. My girlcat is named Stars but I usually call her Little Miss cuz she's a shy and dainty little thing. Her brother is Stripes but I call him "Boy" a lot, because, well, he's a typical rambunctious, trouble-making boy. (Their real names are because they came home the day before Independence Day; their foster family named him Stripes and with the holiday Stars just seemed to fit [her original name was Mitsy].) Of course, with cats, it really doesn't matter what you call them since they don't answer to it anyway. Dogs might get more confused by multiple nicknames (which didn't stop Pablo from having about 30 of 'em ).

No ideas on names, but does anyone else think she looks like the 'Hush Puppie' dog?

Hehe, she does! That dog was a Bassett Hound, right? My friend's mom has a Bassett named Abby. Abby has a half-black-lab daughter named Bella (who frankly reminds me of an overgrown Dachshund; she belongs to my friend's neice.) (The lab belongs to my friend's sister.) And my friend has a yellow Lab named Chloe.

Oh, yeah, all these people and dogs, plus her brother and his fiance's Papillon, live in a two-family house, sharing the yard. I'm surprised there haven't been more puppies. But when you visit there is lots of barking and howling.

It may be because I'm sitting here with my coffee, but with the rich brown color with the white bits, along with the very sleepy eyes makes me think...Latte, or if you prefer the human touch, Lottie.

You should name the puppy: "Squeeeeeeeeeeee! Doggy!"

                    I may be somewhat literal.
How was I supposed to know someone was slipping you Birth Control in the food I've been making for you lately?

A family member had a dog named Dora. Not because of the kid's show but because people kept saying, "She's a-DORA-ble!"

First puppy request, actually. Most people are asking for cat names.

I have a border collie chocolate lab mix. She's our little princess, she sits very daintily, refuses to walk through mud and absolutely MUST have a soft place to curl up, the floor is not good enough. The way she sits, she looks like she is posing for a photo shoot, she's very vapid. Her name is Sammie, but we call her Princess... The other one is Charlie, he's the smart boy who just wants to be loved. His nicknames are dumb-dumb and underfoot.

I think you should name your dog underfoot, but that's exactly where you'll always be finding it.

I had a Border Collie once- her name was Sassafras because her brown was the color of Sassafras root. Her full, legal name that I put down on all her paperwork was Sassafras Aggrivation Underfoot.

While she knew the whole name (because I said the full name like you do to a kid when she was in trouble), we usually just called her Sassy.

How about calling her "Cutest. Puppy. Ever."

Seriously, that picture nearly made me die of cute.

I agree with NightAngel's suggestion to spend a few days with her. I promise you, a name will come to your mind once you get a feel for her personality.

                              Congratulations.

If you have to ask, it's probably better posted at www.fratching.com
