  • My cat is body checking me

So, here I am on the 'puter, and Morgan is throwing her body against me to pet her.
Its working, and it's pretty cute. Though she does have a habit of going from sweet loving kitty to psycho bitting in less time it tales to blink

Mine likes to come up to my side, completely silently, and reach up and tap me on the arm. I look down, say hi, and she walks away. Usually comes back a few minutes later and does it again. Every once in a while she'll hop up in my lap and sit with me while I surf.

If someone's within "striking range" of him, McGriff will reach out with a front paw and actually pull their hand closer to get petted. We have no idea where he learned that.

Sounds like my cat. When I get home from work he will purr and want me to pet him but that can all change in a matter of seconds. Instead of petting him I am now trying to get his sharp teeth off of my arm.

My cat does this thing where she walks up behind me while I'm on the couch and starts tapping me on the shoulder. It's very disconcerting if I've drifted off.

My kitty sleeps on my lap while I'm on the computer- she is very attention needy. As soon as I get home from work she's meets me at the door and follows me around meowing until I "make the lap" for her to lay on. (matter of fact- she's sleeping on my lap right now.)

When I'm not home she sleeps on top of my hubby's monitor... with her tail dangling down the center of the screen. When she gets into a deep sleep she slides off the back. LOL

My last dog did that as well- it was just part of who she is.

And now my other cat is sticking his head under my hand to force me to pet him He actually does one really adorable thing.....he'll sit in my lap and put his paws on my shoulder, and stick his nose under my chin.....and just sit there for long minutes, purring. SO sweet

My female cat is an attention hound, and very affectionate. She will look for any excuse to be carried around by us and will constantly rub heads with us. And if she's not in our arms she meows until she can be up there again .

My male cat doesn't like being carried but he's the type to push his head under your hand...and you WILL PET HIM WHETHER YOU WANT TO OR NOT! He is also a play/love biter...likes to chew on us

I always tease Riley I'm gonna sell him....."One runt cat, slighty used....one eye missing, snaggle tooth, cheap!! All sales final, no warranty ;-"

McGriff's a snaggletooth too! (the original hit-and-run that started the eye problem rolling also knocked out his "fang"---basically that whole side of his face was smashed).

Now he's decided he likes my fancy Japanese wooden comb better than the brush we bought just for him...why do they even make specific cat things if they always decide they like the people versions?

Riley's snaggle tooth and thumbs are what made me adopt him, he lost the eye shorly afterward.

The tooth doesn't seem to bother him....and I love when it's sticking out

This thread made me think of this and I had to go find it.

Millie (avatar cat) does that too. Sometimes she'll leap to the top of the computer chair (usually when my ponytail is dangling over the back...aggh! Pinned by a cat!)

Chessie, on the other hand, utilizes the dreaded Tail Tickle. She'll walk around my bare feet, dragging her tail against my ankles and startling the heck out of me.
