I had a black lab/great dane mix who I adopted through a lab rescue group. He had been on the streets and was scheduled to be euthanized when they got him. He always preferred muddy water from a puddle over the clean water in his bowl. When it was really hot, I would fill his water bowl with ice cubes before putting fresh water in it. Every time I did this, he would run up to his bowl, and when he saw the ice cubes, he would back up really fast. He was scared of the ice cubes!
My cat was fascinated with water. When my daughter was little she liked to tak bubbly baths. Scarlett would sit on the edge of the tub and watch her. Every time I saw her doing this I would push her into the tub. She would jump out and tear around the house until she dried off. It was hilarious. And even though I always pushed her in, she would still sit there even when I came into the bathroom. I always suspected that she considered it some kind of fun game."I guess they see another cash cow just waiting to be dry humped." - Irving Patrick Freleigh

Stripes likes to play with ice cubes, too. If you put them in the water dish he'll paw at them. And make a mess, of course. It's more fun to watch him chase them around the floor.Quoth Aethian View PostMy dogs like playing with ice in the water.
When Stripes used to try to catch the water in the tub, he didn't care if he got wet. But when I closed the drain on him and the water started rising up around his feet, he didn't like that one bit!Quoth freeatlast View PostMy cat was fascinated with water. Casey has to drink out of the bathroom faucet too. It's left running at a trickle, and he sticks his head underneath and catches the water as it drops into the sink. He's been doing this for years. That is so full of suck Dyson doesn't know how they did it - shankyknitter

My Toby will try to eat the water outside when we turn the outside faucet on. He also loves ice cubes. When it gets warm we'll put one on the kitchen floor and he'll chase it and try to eat but it will slip away from him everytime.
