Can you block someone from seeing your profile without removing them from your friends list?

I'm getting a "This profile is not available at the moment. Please try again shortly" message. It works for someone else (who is not friends with the person in question but can see that I am still friends with them). I tried a few other profiles and it's the only one doing it. So I'm wondering if he did something to block me or if it's just a facebook glitch.I don't go in for ancient wisdom
