My wife used to work for a web development company (doing just about everything non-technical and non-programming).
With some extremely questionable motives on their end, they laid her off (I won't go into the details but they hired 5 new sales reps just after "laying" her off amongst other things). This pushed us near financial ruin. She still hasn't found a FT job yet - dog training and house sitting has helped but we still couldn't avoid bankruptcy, going several days without electricity (due to non-payment), cutting back as much as we can (we haven't been to Orlando since Feb 2008 or even to New England to see my family since 2006).
Yeah, because of this things have been extremely hard financially.
On the side, I also deal in domain names. I help run one of the largest domain name communities on the internet where her ex-company is a member. Around the time my wife was laid off the company also launched a domain auctioning service.
My wife still sees the "silent" partner of the company, she's been friends with him for a very long time (he claims he has nothing to do with the lay off) and she still trains his dogs, so they talk often.
I don't know how often he mentions it to her but she's mentioning that I should sell my domain names with their auction service.
WHAT???
I even asked her (with no response to her) that does she realize that she is asking me to support the company that f-ed us over and put us in the situation we're currently in?
HELL NO.
Not only am I happy with the venues that I have to sell the names, 99% of the names that I own I am not interested in selling at all.
Seriously, is she nucking futs about this?
