I drive to a nearby supermarket, planning to get cash from an ATM and vist their car wash.
I park, get cash, return to car and car is dead. It doesn't turn over. Only a glimmer of lights on the dash.
!! It is 2pm. I have work at 4.30 and am planning to drive to my parents' tomorrow for the weekend.
2.02pm I call the recovery service. They take my details, and tell me someone will be with me within an hour.
2.09 I get a text saying recovery will be with me by 14.52.
2.10pm I call Kwik Fit, to see if they have battery in stock, just in case.
Then I go into supermarket, buy paper and coke. When I return, recovery vehicle is parked behind my car. Guy connects charger to my battery and starts car. We discuss state of battery, which is showing green and has given no indication of any problems prior to today.
2.27pm I fill out paperwork and go on my way.
I head for Kwik Fit. Car cuts out on the way there, I panic, but I am going down hill, so I can bump start it.
around 2.35pm I reach Kwik Fit. I stop car. It won't restart.

2.41pm battery fitted, I pay.
Result: it took less then 45 minutes from breakdown, to recovery, to having new battery fitted by garage. Incredible.
