Not sure if this is the right area but... it's not really a sucky "customer' so whatever.
Anyways I just bought a new car deck (stereo) for my car cuz my old one crapped out on me and I have an hour drive to work each way so i NEED my music.
Anyways they dont have the model I had bought a few years back (older/obselete) so I picked up the same company (sony) newer version.
now the guy told me it'd definently notice a sound quality improvement (and i have ti's nice). my issue with this thing is as follows.
it has a usb port so i plug my mp3 player in there to... well play my mp3s in my car. handier than carrying cd's around and all that.
my mp3 player holds roughly 1000 songs so in my OLD deck i'd just plug it in, put it on shuffle and let it play.
so this newer/better/higher tech.
deck... has a BUILT IN LIMIT of 500 mp3's.
thats right folks doesn't matter HOW MANY songs are on my mp3 player this thing will only read/play the first 500.
I've emailed sony about this asking if there was a setting to change this (as i initally assumed in my playing around with it i screwed something up on the deck settings). no.. no i got a reply that it's basically 'just the way it is' when the older 2 years old deck i had paid for/installed initially had NO problem playing all my songs no matter how many i had on my mp3 player.
yes im a music freak so this bugs me immensly.
i THINK the only workaround that im gonna try is, the deck also has an aux port (headphone jack) so i'll buy a conecting cable, n plug the mp3 player into the aux port instead of the usb port. and i THINK that'll make the mp3 player control the playlist/songs etc. so it should allow me to play ALL my damn songs through the car as oppose to the first 500.
and... i'm done. (feel free to move this wherever you mods feel is correct)
