  • Public records search help?

Does anyone know if there is any way I can find public records for free online (specifically if there are lawsuits against a certain person). There are a lot of paid services out there but I want to know if it's possible to find info without a credit card. The most promising search I found costs $50 to get the level of info I want.

I don't know how it works in New Jersey, but in Ohio most of the court websites have a database of all court cases and such, from something as little as a traffic ticket to as much as murder. Try searching for whatever county your in.

    I also found this: http://lawlibrary.rutgers.edu/search.shtml

I don't know if any of this allows you to look at open cases.

Doesn't let me search back far enough. Thanks, though.

It's really more out of curiosity than anything else. That's why I don't want to have to pay for it. I know there will be complaints from his old apartment complex at the very least. But it's not that important.

The local municipal clerk of the court should have them. Most systems are online now.
