We've had an issue with people going though the community's fence recently allowing lesser desirables (and that is complimenting them) into our community. This was also pointed out in the "dangerous situation" thread.
Today the fence was fixed (woohoo!) and I've decided that Zorro is the best dog to take for a walk to "patrol" the community.
First, he's a Belgian malinois. You've heard me talk about him before but here is a picture of him (he's great looking, too):
So right there people think K9 and would prefer not to mess with him.
But - my wife has him trained that given the right commands he can turn his protectiveness "on" in less than a second and then, with the right command, "off" in even less time.
In other words, with one word he will go from the sweetest thing ever to what looks like a very protective dog. Even faster if I already have him in an alert mode.
And of course, for your viewing pleasure, a picture of him being a naughty puppy (when we first got him):
Kiri and Gallon, while very intimidating, can't be controlled this quickly (Kiri can be turned on but it will take a walk away from the situation to get her to turn off - Gallon, I don't think he would turn on much at all - I can get him to bark, though).
