  • My Son Graduated From Basic Training

    ]Hi all,
Long time no post. Anyway, I just had to share this. My oldest son Michael signed up for the Air Force. He graduated from basic training on Oct.1. Right now he will be training to be an MP (military police). The Air force calls it security forces, I just say MP out of habit. Any way right now he says he's having a blast. I am just so proud of him. He is doing what he wants and I think that is just wonderful. His dad flew down to watch him graduate. I wish I could have gone too, but only one of us could afford to fly down. Plus our other 2 kids were still in school. I was just glad his dad was able to fly down cause lets face it he was a daddy's boy in the womb

A friend of mine did the AF years ago - he went to tech school in Mobile, Alabama. Just tell him to not let them assign him to Omaha, NE.

Great job to him, though. I'm sure in a few years he'll be full of great stories for sites like this one.

At this point in time, 25 years ago, I was going through BMTS for the Air Force. I was fresh out of high school & away from home for the 1st time. I had my tech school at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado.

          He's cute =)

They do grow up fast, don't they?

That is completely awesome. As a future Air Force officer, it's nice to see young people equally committed to serving within the enlisted ranks. If you want, once I go active, I can try and keep track of him for you...no promises, of course, but it's nice to have people looking out for one another.

Security Forces sure is a great career track; I've met a lot of them [mostly enlisted] and they sound like a blast.

Aww! He's cute. My parents were in the AF, when they retired they were stationed at Hill Air Force base here in Utah.

                  Good luck to him!

My dad was in AF for 28 years. I'm an AF brat by birth .
                    Hugs to him, and Congrats!

PS: Elmendorf AFB in AK - it's cold and dark and cold. LOL. We got a lot of Russian wargame visitors (all totally kosher, no real fighting). If you like fishing/hunting, and like adventure, ask for EAFB.
Omaha NE - Offuit AFB is flat, boring, hot, stinky...ick. Was a kid over there, 3 yrs in NE. Ick. Crickets and lighting bugs tho!

Well that is very nice of you Hobbs. He does have a cell phone that he keeps in his room. So we've been keeping in contact by texting. However if you are going to Lackland AFB, TX. I think it would be cool if you two met. I'll PM you with the details if you want.

                        Thank you all so much.
