  • My past 24 hours...I'm SO tired and wrung out (ranty)

I have had a very eventful 24 hours, some good, but some very bad.

    The Bad:

-While cleaning up the Greatest Customer's car for the fall foliage drive I just got back from, I caught the palm of my right hand on a sharp metal corner and carved out a chunk of my hand. Bled like crazy and hurt like hell. And trying to get any sort of bandage to stick to your palm is just about impossible.

-On the way back home - around midnight - I had a run in with the police. Although I got off with a verbal warning (pure luck) I would prefer not to discuss the details publicly. If you absolutely must know, PM me and I'll consider telling you about it. It left me shaken and kept me up just about all night.

-Drove the car all the way to Lincoln NH and only ONE other person who RSVPed for the event that I put together showed up. We were supposed to have 10 people and 6 cars, instead we ended up with 3 people and only 2 cars. The people in the car club need to wake up. Only one even bothered to email me to say he was backing out. I had a reservation for 10 at the restaurant, and when we got there, they said they'd spent the past hour getting ready for us. We (the three of us whop bothered to come) felt terrible that they put in that extra work for nothing. We left a little extra in the tip (the service and food was excellent).

-My "vice-president" is not answering my emails.

-I brought extra bandages with me so I could redress my wound, but neglected to transfer them from my car to the Greatest Customer's car. I had to go to Aid of Rite and drop $12 on bandages, antiseptic ointment, and cloth tape. Then I left all that stuff on the table in the restaurant and didn't remember until I'd gone from North Conway all the way back to Merrimack - about 2 hours. Far too late to turn back for them.

-Nearly got into a wreck in Manchester because of an idiot in a cookie-cutter sports car who doesn't know how to merge on the highway.

-Ran into severe traffic from all the Columbus day weekend leaf-peepers. Stop & go + heavy clutch = very tired and sore leg.

-All of the above on maybe 2 hours sleep. I am totally exhausted.

    The Good:

-Despite some early weather troubles, the foliage was spectacular. I have about 3GB of pictures to sort through.

-Picked up some delicious candied popcorn at the outlet shops. Expensive but so good its almost sinful.

-Really good food at dinner, for a good price.

-Despite the poor turnout, we had a good time on the drive.

-Met a guy who lives in Belfast who was on vacation in the area. He was in Belfast when the DeLorean factory was operating there and remembers seeing car transporters full of them driving by on the way to the docks. He was either telling the truth or was a very smart liar.

-12 hours of driving time in my dream car. On the way back home, I was nice and comfy flying down the highway and had the stereo going. I felt sort of like I was on one of the long evening drives to/from college. Then it kinda just dawned on me....this is in my DREAM CAR! Life is GREAT!

What kind of car club? I used to collect antique VWs =)

Not really into leaf peeping, but I likes me some cars...
EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.
