  • The one where Irv almost has a heart attack

I just got back from a garage I trust. I had an oil change done on my car.

When I got there, there was a guy sitting in the waiting room waiting for his car to be done. I gave the mechanics my keys and sat down.

As I was sitting there reading car magazines and getting a headache from the strong rubber and chemical fumes permeating the waiting room, one of the mechanics came in from the garage and announced "Your engine's leaking all over the place. We're going to have to flush it out to figure out where the leak is coming from."

Turned out they were talking to the other guy. The Freleighmobile got its oil change and a clean bill of health.

    Whew! What a relief, huh?

My car is an oldy but goody (1993 Beretta). The engine is great, still has less than 100,000 miles on it, but the body is falling apart. I tell it I love it as much as possible so it will continue to take me to work without giving me too much hassle.

It also helps that my son is an auto tech.

I just paid $450 to have my brakes done. Yeah, apparently when they took everything apart some of the parts fell on the floor. O-O

I had one of those brake jobs too - but mine was over $500 (stupid, expensive 4 wheel drive trucks....)
