I've been popping my knuckles for as long as I can remember. I've always actually enjoyed it. Lately though, I've noticed that my carpal tunnel (just recently showed up) seems to get worse somethings when I pop them. Mostly it only makes it worse on already bad days, but still I've finally decided to try to stop. This is going to be tough since sometimes I do it absent mindedly and my knuckles feel out of sorts when I go awhile without popping them until they get used to it. Any tips on helping myself stop?

you might need to talk to a chiropractor about that...or a doctor. If i remember correctly after you start popping joints pressure builds up between them, which is why it feels uncomfortable if you don't pop them."I'm not smiling because I'm happy. I'm smiling because every time I blink your head explodes!"

It should be noted that knuckle popping does not cause arthritis or carpal tunnel or anything else. However, it can exacerbate these conditions. So I agree, ask a chiropractor about the knuckle popping. I usually go and get my spine adjusted once a month, and while I'm there, I make him pop my toes (and sometimes knees.. oh and my right elbow. Cuz I broke it last spring and it still doesn't work quite right.).
I actually hate having my toes popped, so I only let my chiropractor do it, because it does need to be one."I'm working for popcorn - what I get paid doesn't rise to the level of peanuts." -Courtesy of Darkwish
