the funny thing is is that we are a relatively small market. and it is the same thing every year. at least one station plays the stuff 24/7.

      NOW we got 2

Before Halloween, one of the local stations (not sure which one, because it wasn't my day to be in charge of the radio at work) was mixing Christmas songs in with the regular rotation.

Around here, no radio station play Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving. Depends where in the country the stations are?

A KC station starts playing Christmas music sometime in November, but I can't remember if it's before or after Thanksgiving. I dunno, I guess I've been out of retail long enough that I like Christmas music! Just reminds me that the semester is winding down and I get to go home to spend time with family.

2 years ago, a station (maybe 2) in Milwaukee started playing Christmas music on Halloween (I think). A LOT of people complained and they switched back to regular programming within a couple hours.

My store has been playing Christmas music for the past three weeks. And I got back to work from a trip over Halloween to see all sorts of Christmas decorations up around the store. Are we just ignoring Thanksgiving now?

and this is the reason my family has switched to a minor christmas (mainly exchanging of gifts) on thanksgiving. We HARDLY decorate for christmas anymore, and just have a nice family dinner on that day.

I can already hear Christmas music at work -- the "station" that the store has it's music set to, is sneaking in a few Christmas songs here and there.

Don't wanna listen to it yet, want to have Thanksgiving first.
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

I'm the same way . . . at least wait until after Thanksgiving for the Christmas music to start. One of the local stations (99.5 FM here, WMAG) will sprinkle in regular music with Christmas tunes (and it's the same recycled canned mess every year) until Christmas Eve, when it's nonstop until December 26th at 12 a.m. . . .

Here's something to ponder: why don't we have any Thanksgiving music?

At least you weren't stuck with Christmas music in August.

When my favorite radio station went under, that first weekend, just to fill the air time between transitioning to the lamest station ever to exist, they played NOTHING but Christmas music.

One of the other stations owned by that company plays Christmas music from Black Friday all the way until January 2nd.
