  • Update on the Saga of our Flaky Niece (First of many)

Cast of Characters (to refresh your organic memories)

    ME-Yours truly
SO-Mrs. TGK i.e. now my wife, my GF at the start of this saga
GR-SO's next oldest sibling and father of FN
XW-GR's first wife and mother of FN and TN
    XG-GR's GF 'til about '04
FN-Our flakey niece, daughter of GR
TN-Our together niece, younger daughter of GR
    IA-Present GF of GR
    OR-SO's oldest brother
    IR-SO's mother, my MIL
    SB-FN's slacker boyfriend and baby-daddy
AR-FN's now ex-husband and father of her first two kids (6 y.o. and 2 y.o.)

When last we left FN (who so deserves to inherit a boot to the head.), she and SB moved into a rental townhouse they couldn't possibly afford. FN had a healthy boy.

FN and SB finally realized that they couldn't possibly pay rent after about 3 months of scrounging. So guess what they did...That's right they moved in with GR and IA. IA, to our surprise, did not object at all to this.

FN, true to form, did absolotely no packing or preparation of any kind--not even scrounging the local Kinko's...excuse me, FedEx Office--which is within walking distance of her old digs, for empty paper boxes (great moving boxes--I've used them myself). Consequently GR and SB's family (up for a visit to see the new member) had to do it all in a couple of days. I know from an apartment fire experience that this is no easy task.

Complicating matters is that the owner of the townhouse they abandoned is owned by a lawyer. I have not seen the actual lease, but have a hard time believing that anyone could just break the lease without some financial consequences. Keep in mind that FN already had considerable debts.

FN lived with GR for a short time before when she was between boyfriends. Needless to say, it didn't work out. I don't recall the exact issue but FN moved out.

SB went back to long-haul trucking, which keeps him away for two or three weeks at a time. Keep in mind that AR was late or away for several days at a time in a effort to stave off bankruptcy brought on by FN's spending and car-acquiring practices. It was during this time that FN started her affair with SB in the first place. See a pattern here?

As for her Jerry Springer appearence Not scheduled yet, but give her time.

We (GR, IA, SO and yours truly) are taking a Bahamas cruise in a couple of weeks. It may be interesting when we get back. I hope GR's house is still intact.

Stay tuned to this board for the next episode in this saga.

    An update of sorts:

SO talked to her brother last night and has this update: FN was cutting hair (she does this on the sly since she has not renewed her cosmetology license which lapsed 2 years ago) when GR, SB and various other relatives of his were moving. No word on whether there was a significant amount of money made here, but with their debts (mainly medical), anything is bound to help. Still though, couldn't she wait a day or two?

SB's uncle, who had assisted in several other moves, expressed disgust at this latest episode. This was especially inconvenient for him as he lives about 3 hours from the action.

FN's facebook profile says that she is 'single and available'. You're reading this correctly: She has time to work on her facebook profile, but no pack for a move from a place she had no business renting. Does SB know about this? What does he think? How about AR?

Holy crap FN really has been getting herself knee deep in shit creek. As for the facebook single and available relationship status....wow. I really wonder how SB is gonna react to that. *smh*

Mrs. TGK agrees with you there. We agree that this is a train wreck and have no plans to get close enough to be caught up in it.
My BIL (FN's dad) is in the construction business and struggling--considering bankruptcy, in fact; so the last thing he needs is more under his roof to support. Moreover, SB will remain involved (financially at a minimum) at least 'til his son with FN turns 18--child support you know.
Here's a good example of how manipulative FN can be: She has a car, supposedly owned (registered, technically) to SB but the note was paid by a neighbor of theirs. I don't know what the deal was, but it sure looks fishy to me.
