  • Left 4 dead 2?

Just curious if anyone else is as big a fan of killin zombies as I am? and if so if they're getting this game?

If so and you feel like adding me to XBL fire me off an invite, tired of finding random/whiny/annoying people online to play with who don't quit understand the whole 'co-op' aspect of these games.

    GT: MergedLoki

well even if you don't have the l4d games send me an invite anyways if you want. I play a bit of everything (but mostly FPS's).

I just played Left 4 Dead and greatly enjoyed it. I loved that I could just go in, blow away pretty much everything that moved. It's a great stress reliever

I do plan on getting Left 4 Dead 2 but I probably won't right away...but later on when the price has gone down a bit. Between Dragon Age, Borderlands, and Mass Effect 2 coming out in January, I got my game fix down for a while

Unfortunately, I'm primarily a PC gamer, or I'd take you up on the offer. The only FPS I've been able to play with a controller is GoldenEye on the N64.

I'm sure L4D2 will be good and all, but I'm still sore at them for not finishing L4D1 first.

But ya, too much other stuff atm. Aion, Dragon Age, etc. -.-

It's really not that type of game. Since you can finish one of the "movies" in an hour or two, and you can start at any chapter in the movie, I really don't see why a save game would be necessary. That's like asking for a save game option in Q*Bert.

Definitely will be renting it at the very least. I'll hit you up on my cousins live account, 'cause I can't afford one of my own.

How exactly was it not finished? game came out, they've updated fairly regularly. given us survival mode (for free) and a new campaign (that costs about $5 or so).

                  game's finished.

Mostly because I play in half hour chunks.

Yeah, so you play two chapters, quit, restart from chapter 3, play, etc.

I've got it more sorted of why the no save got to me, and gave up on it before completing a chapter. I wasn't looking for a bot team game to replicate an online game, I wanted a one player game.

It shipped with limited maps and was more like a proof of concept than anything else. People waited for it to be supported by free content updates ( as they declared it would be ) to flesh it out. This did not pan out. 1 new campaign 10 months after release is pretty meager pickings.

Instead they announce a sequel less than a year later. Which comes across more like "Hey here's all the stuff we were working on the entire time and could have added to L4D1 to make it worth the $50 you paid for it, but instead we're gonna make you pay $50 for it again."

So yeah, little put off by that. L4D was fun and all, but it was not full retail price fun. I expected them to continue to expand it, like they said they would, rather than work on an entirely new sequel worth of content and ask me to cough up full retail price again.

Valve has stated numerous times they are going to keep offering support/updates etc. for L4D1. if you want free stuff so badly, go get the PC version where you can have user created maps/mods etc. the reason so little has been added to teh xbox360 version is simply b/c microsoft will fight tooth and nail to NOT allow ANY free DLC content. so if valve says 'hey we wanna give this free to our gaming fans' microsoft replies 'hell no' and that's that. (which is why getting the survival mode for free was a nice little bonus. i'm fine paying for new content but free is always nice).

but meh, L4D2. originally was a L4D1 add on and partway thru development the valve team realized they had way too much stuff for a simple add on. (programing changes, new infected, total graphics overhaul/upgrade) so they fleshed it out and made it a full sequel. (plus think of every sequel ever, CoD gets a 'sequel' every year, halo gets one every year, any fighting game (almost) gets one every year lol).

it just seems L4D has people in arms screaming 'too soon too soon'

I got L4D1 through Gamefly and purchased the used edition eventually for 20. Would I have paid a full 50 bucks for it new? Probably not. 20 was just right for a stress relieving distraction. For the same reason though L4D2 looks fabu so far, I will probably simply add it to my Gamefly list and buy it then if I think it's worth it. I got games I KNOW are going to kick-butt I'd rather buy new.
