  • No respect for other people's things.

    Namely, my own.

Last night I went to a Queensryche + Lita Ford concert. The sound was good, and Geoff Tate was great. Lita was only on for 3 songs after the middle of QR's set but hey, any Lita is better than no Lita.

However, it also spelled the death of my beloved Panasonic camera. Right as QR was gearing up for the encore, I swapped memory cards, turned my camera on and.... SPLASH! Some idiot spilled their drink on me, and it mostly landed on my camera. I quickly dried it off, and it turned on but it complained the lens cap was on (it wasn't), then when it turned it back off, it would not turn on again. So for now, I don't have a camera.

My camera was a DMC-FZ7. I loved it, and I was never really interested in upgrading. Obviously, I have to now as I'm going to a car race at the end of the month and I don't want to be camera-less.

There is always some half-drunken jackass at all concerts who don't care if they spill their drink all over someone.

The last Chicago concert I went to someone like that spilled his beer all over me and then demanded that I pay him for the beer.

Yeah, right. How about if I get stopped on the way home YOU can pay my bail and attorney fees since I will REEK of alcohol until I take a shower?

I would have demanded their information and make them pay for it - it's their carelessness that destroyed your camera - concert or not, drunk or not, either is an excuse.

Too bad I didn't know who it was - I would have done that if I did.

Oh, you didn't see who spilled their drink on your camera? That sucks.

If you're going to look for a replacement, get the ZS3. Yeah, it might be a bit pricey, but that camera does gorgeous things, plus it has a 12x optical zoom, which is really hard to find in a camera that small, especially at that price range.

Already ordered the DMC-FZ35 and a 8GB SDHC card from B&H. I wanted a camera that uses the same batteries and cards. So it won't be too long before I can take pics again.

That sucks, maybe a camera shop can repair it for you?
Common sense... So rare it's a goddamn superpower.

It's 4 years old. Not worth fixing.

That sucks about your camera, but I am sooooooo jealous that you got to see Queensryche.

I love their older stuff, "Jet City Woman" is one of my favorite songs.

Jet City Woman is one of my faves too. That's the song that they did for the encore. Unfortunately, I'll always remember my camera getting splashed right before the song.
